Meet our team

Dr. Afina Glas has been a urologist since 2008. She was trained at the AMC, VUMC and OLVG. Her specialization is reconstructive urology and prosthetics of penis, scrotum and urethra. She gained a lot of experience as a urologist in VUmc, Radboud UMC and since 2012 in the Zaans Medical Center in Zaandam. She has also been affiliated with Medisch Kliniek Velsen in Velsen-Noord since 2022, where she mainly performs surgical treatments of penis and scrotum, including sterilizations.

Each year, Dr. Afina Glas performs between 100-150 sterilizations. For a urologist, it is a relatively simple procedure, nevertheless, she still finds it fun and challenging to do.

Each contact with a man who comes for sterilization is different and thus varied. "It's satisfying when someone comes off the table and says it was all okay and then goes home completely okay."

Iris van Steijn has been a Physician Assistant since 2020. She was trained as Physician Assistant at the Academic Medical Center in Amsterdam in the urology department. After completing her training, she started at the urology department at the Máxima MC in Veldhoven, where she worked in the entire scope of urology. There she was trained by highly skilled urologists in performing sterilizations on men. Meanwhile, she has already performed more than 1000 sterilizations. For Iris it is important to guide patients as well as possible during the operation and to provide good quality medical care.
